Papers, 1847-1978.

The majority of the collection relates to John Frederick Nash but there are also records documenting the Nash and Floyd families. The collection includes correspondence, literary materials, medical ledager, insurance records, legal and financial records, printed materials, scrapbooks, photographs, and artifacts. The correspondence includes letters sent to Nash by family members while he was a student at Davidson College, letters written during WWI, and family letters written in 1852 and the 1860s.

John Frederick Nash, 1890-1958, graduated from Davidson College in 1911. He also attended the North Carolina Medical College. He began practicing medicine in St. Paul, North Carolina in 1916. During World War I, he served in the medical corps in France. He returned to St. Paul after the war and became active in civic affairs, serving twice as mayor.
